Girls Camp 2010

Shelby and I went to our church's Girls Camp last month.  I was so glad that I was able to go as a chaperone so that I could spend some time with these great girls!  Our theme was "Survivor" and, aside from the heat and bugs, we did indeed survive pretty well!

Here is Shelby and her bunk mate Morgan...

Waiting for instructions in the dining hall...

Craft time...there were some great crafts during the week.  The girls each made a tie-dyed bandanna, a knapsack decorated with fabric markers, a wooden block with the 2010 Mutual theme, a pillowcase, and a photo box.  I was so impressed!
Here they are painting their wooden blocks...

Bathroom cleaning duty!!!

One of the Survivor "reward challenges"...working as a team, the girls had to take a bowl of spaghetti and, strand by strand, transfer it into a 2-liter bottle.  It was NOT an easy task!

Our "Ward" picture on the night the Bishoprics were invited.
(Each level had a different color shirt..I love the rainbow effect!)

Shelby and I were glad Travis was able to visit for an evening when the Bishops were invited!

The second-year girls had a requirement of participating in a flag ceremony..here is Shelby folding the flag at the end of the day.  I have to say, I got teary-eyed watching her do it!

Skits on our last night!
