The Musical Stylings of Shelby

October was a busy, musical month for Shelby. She participated in her first school band concert as well as our ward's talent show. The band concert was really impressive, especially given that none of these kids could play an instrument a couple of months ago. It was all 6th graders, and they did a fabulous job! Shelby is really enjoying the saxophone and I am super impressed at how well she is playing already. She picks up new songs so quickly and loves to practice them till they flow right out of her. It's great to watch!

She also sang a solo in our ward's (church's) talent show. She sang Taylor Swift's "Love Song." Although she was much more nervous during the performance than she was during her rehearsals at home, she did a SUPER job! I was so proud of her for getting up there in front of that large group.

P.S. Abby also played the piano in the talent show, but I couldn't get any pictures of her because the piano was blocking her tiny little body. She played a song called "Clock Shop" and did a fabulous job too! I am so proud of her!!!
