Today was my fabulous dad's birthday. It was great having my brother, Randy, and his family here, but we missed having my other brother, Ryan, with us too. This evening dad did a great Family Home Evening for the kids. He talked about loving your neighbor and related the story of the Good Samaritan. The kids got a kick out of the adults reenactment.

After Family Home Evening, Dad grilled hamburgers and hot dogs, and we had a cookout for dinner. Everything was yummy! The kids and us grown-ups had a good time playing with the new badminton set in the backyard, too.

Finally it was time to open gifts and eat cake--the best parts of a birthday! :) First, we had to get a picture of Papa with all of the kiddos.
I am so thankful to have been born into the family I have. My dad is the best father a child could have asked for. I couldn't have picked a better one! He has taught me so many important lessons over the years, and I am thankful that he is close by to help me and Travis teach our girls these same lessons. He is patient, loving, and kind, and is such a wonderful example to me. I love you so much Dad, and I hope you had a great birthday this year!

Happy Birthday Bishop (you'll always be bishop to me!). You have impacted and changed my life in a big way, and you probably don't even know that.
How fun - isn't it great to watch all the cousins together? Your Dad looks great. And it amazing how much alike Abby & Emily look alike in the pic with your Dad!
I have such great memories of your family! It was so fun to see the pictures of all of you together. Hope your dad had a great day!
