This morning we went to the ward Easter egg hunt. While we were there, one of the boys--a 13-year-old--gave Shelby a note asking her to be his girlfriend (or, he worte, "as our parents say, a girl who is a friend"). It was a sweet letter and he is such a darling kid from a great family, but it makes me nervous nonetheless. I asked Shelby what she said, and when she said that she had told him, "yes," I asked her what it meant. She said she had no idea, so I am assuming that it still means the same thing that it meant when I was in 5th grade--which is basically that you walk around giggling at each other some of the time and embarassingly ignoring each other the rest of the time. I am so thankful that she is keeping me "in the loop"--as long as that continues, I think we'll make it through these days okay. And to think, we have to go through all of this THREE times! :0)
TOGETHER... We make a FAMILY...
