Here goes...

Well, here goes. I am a bit nervous and self-conscious about putting this on the web, but I have really been wanting to do it for a while, so here I am. I am home sick tonight--a yucky cold with fever. Trav and the girls just left to go down to the church, so I thought I'd get off the couch and do something.

I guess the main reason I am doing this blog is to stay connected--to friends and family--and to reconnect with people who have passed through my life. I am not the best at emailing and for some reason I am not a big phone talker either, so I am hoping that this will help me do better. I am also hoping to preserve memories this way--the little ones that might get lost otherwise.

I remember when the girls were small and would do something cute, I would think that I would never forget it, so I wasn't always so good at writing things down. As the years have gone on, time seems to have made those once clear memories fade, and I am hoping that this will be a way for me to preserve the small moments in life that I want to savor.

I am not promising to be great about blogging every day or even every couple of days, but now that I have started, I promise to continue.
