Okay, so Valentine's Day isn't that big of a deal in our marriage. I guess I just don't deal well with all of the commercialization of everything. That, and we are usually just finishing paying off Christmas, and the thought of spending even more money isn't appealing to either of us. Also, I like to think that we show each other love EVERY day and not just on February 14th. :) So, since there will be no gift for me to present to Travis today, I thought I'd take the time to tell him (and you) what I love about him. Of course, there are WAY MORE than ten things, but this is all I am posting! :)
1) He is a great cook! He makes the best spaghetti sauce, and one of the girl's favorite meals is called "Daddy's Pancakes."
2) He is not afraid to show his "softer" side. He watches "chick flicks" with me and occasionally, I see a tear or two! :)
3) He gets down on the floor and plays with the girls. While I am cooking dinner or cleaning up, I will often find him on the family room floor playing a card or board game with one, two, or all of the girls.
4) He didn't hesitate (well...maybe for just a second) when I asked him a couple of weeks ago to stop at the gas station convenience store to pick up some "feminine hygiene products" for me.
5) He is always willing to serve. No matter how late the call or what else he may be involved in, he will drop it to help someone in need.
6) When he and I are sitting on the couch after a long day (which rarely happens, mind you) he will always take my feet and give me the best foot rubs (even if they're stinky from being cooped up in shoes all day).
7) He is a hard worker and a good provider. He leaves for work at 6:00am, doesn't get home until about 6:00pm, and he never complains about being tired, frustrated, or anything. He is also doing incredibly well as Branch Manager--they have exceeded both of their monthly goals so far this year! His hard work and great attitude are definitely responsible for that!
8) He is not afraid to let the girls give him a Dora tattoo (on his back) or polish his toenails! :)
9) He never complains or says he's "babysitting" when I have a (much needed) night out to play bunko or to see a movie with friends. In fact, many times in the past he has watched my girlfriend's children, too, if her husband couldn't.
10) Last, but ceratinly not least, he loves the Lord. He honors his priesthood, and is doing a great job serving as our ward's new Bishop. I see the Love that he has for the Savior radiate from him, and I know that watching him makes me want to be a better person.
I love you, Trav! Happy Valentine's Day!

Jenn - I love this post! So many of these things brought a smile to my face and I really miss you and your family. You caught a good one. Many of these things reminded me of Sean, too. Happy V-Day!
What a fun thing to do for your loved one. It's fun to catch up with you (what's funny is I used Elaine's blog to sneak onto yours earlier the same day).

Yes, I agree with most of those wonderful things you said about Travis. Though he has never bought feminine hygiene products for ME - he watched my girls many times when they were babies so Jenn and I could catch a girls night out. I have never forgotten that one! And I might add that Jenn's wonderful parents have also watched my girls in those early days - maybe everyone knew I needed a night out! You're a lucky woman, Jennifer - Travis should give lessons to other husbands!
