Abby was honored at her end of year celebration last Wednesday. She received an honor roll medal and certificate for being on the A-B honor roll for the year. We are so proud of Abby for all of her hard work this year. (By the way, she also passed the CRCT, so no summer school for us!) She is with her teacher, Mrs. Perry, whom I just love! She was a fantastic teacher for Abby, and really helped her to reach her full potential! Yeah, Abby!!!
Shelby was also honored last Wednesday at the middle school. They gave out trophies for the highest yearly averages in each subject area. To her surprise, Shelby received two awards! She got the trophy for the highest yearly average in her math class and in her science class. We know that she has worked extra hard this year, too, and is was great to see all of that work rewarded! Trav made it from Tallahassee just in time to see her given the awards, so that was special for her, too! She was also recognized for, once again, being on the honor roll for the last quarter. Way to go, Shelby!
On Wednesday (yes...it was a busy day!), I also visited Emily's class to present Mrs. Baker with the scrapbook I had made for her. It turned out really cute, and the kids were all excited to see the pages that they had helped make. I was happy that nobody in the class "spilled the beans" because it really was a surprise!
On Friday, Mrs. Baker gave all of the kids a CD with pictures from the year set to music. Since we've been in Las Vegas, I just watched it this morning and cried, of course! It was so cute and the song was beautiful. I'd never heard it before. It's called "Let Them be Little" by Billy Dean. (Click on the title to hear it and read the lyrics.) The words to the song are so true! The girls are all growing up so fast, and I just want to enjoy each day that I have with them. I am so excited that summer vacation is here now, and that we'll have these two uninterrupted months together!
TOGETHER... We make a FAMILY...

Hurray girls! We love Mamma Mia's too. When did you go to Naples? I don't think I read about that? The pool looks heavenly. Love you all!
Jennifer - I know you are proud of your girls. You look SOOO good in the pictures. And tell your Mother she doesn't look a day over 29! I hope you had a great time in Vegas.
Remember when you did the paper chain/ book reading thing over the summer? Will you remind me of the details? I'd love any other ideas you want to share about summer fun too!! Thanks!
Impressive!! Enjoy your summer vacation!
