Getting ready to Celebrate!

This afternoon the girls made flag pins to wear tomorrow for Independence Day. I made one of these at girls camp in conjunction with a class we had on patriotism, and I thought it would be fun to have the girls make them, too. We had our Family Home Evening on Monday about patriotism and freedom. It was good to talk about the freedoms we enjoy, and to discuss with the girls some of the things that we believe in. We also adopted a soldier through AnySoldier.com that we are writing letters to. I want the girls to grow up being proud to live in this great country and to appreciate all of the freedoms we have here. Happy Fourth of July, everyone. God Bless America!
(Shelby was a bit under the weather today, and was sleeping on the couch when we did these. She'll make hers when she's feeling more up to it!)

We used to make those pins! What a fun activity. I'm glad that there are folks still dedicated to teaching patriotism and appreciation for our country and our freedoms. It seems like so many kids are missing out on that!

Have a wonderful 4th!
